NEP - ART INTEGRATED WORKSHOP 16.03.2024

Greenway Modern School organised a workshop on 18th March 2024, for Primary Educators on the topic of Art Integrated Education under NEP 2020. The resource people from CBSE were Mr. R.K Srivastava and Ms. Deepti Sharma. They were welcomed by the Senior Coordinator Ms.Anuja Jaitley & Primary Wing Coordinator Ms.Renu Gupta. 

This workshop was tailored for Primary teachers focusing on Art Integrated Education. It aimed to equip educators with innovative strategies to infuse art into the primary curriculum effectively. 

This workshop was designed to provide primary teachers with practical tools and methodologies to integrate various art forms into their teaching practices. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities; like where all the teachers stood in a circle and introduced themselves followed by another exercise- a Chinese act to demonstrate how information is transferred and deconstructed, also various audiovisuals were shared to impart the importance of art-integrated education. 

Teachers explored the transformative potential of art integration in enhancing student engagement and academic achievement. 

The workshop focused on exploring the concept of art integration and its significance in primary education, Learn innovative teaching methods and instructional strategies for seamlessly integrating art across different subjects, Discover how to design and implement art-integrated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, Explore effective ways to assess student learning and progress within an art-integrated curriculum, gained insights from experienced educators and practitioners through real-world examples and success stories. WORKSHOP ON MOTIVATION THEORIES AND APPLICATION IN EDUCATION - 06.03.2024

Greenway Modern School organized a workshop to empower educators on the topic - Motivation Theories and Application in Education by Mr. Lucky Puccharat for the Primary and Pre-primary teachers so that they can help and motivate the students at the foundational stage. He was welcomed by the Senior & Primary Coordinator of the school. 

The “Motivation Theories and Application in Education” workshop was designed to equip educators with the knowledge and tools to foster a motivating learning environment for their students. By delving into various motivation theories and practical applications, teachers gained insights into how to inspire and engage students effectively. 

The objectives of this workshop were to understand key motivation theories and their relevance to education, Explore strategies for fostering intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in students, Discuss the role of feedback, goal-setting, and autonomy in motivating learners, Develop personalized approaches to meet the diverse motivational needs of students at the foundational stage.  Upon the completion of the workshop, teachers were equipped with a deeper understanding of motivation theories and how to apply them effectively in educational settings. They gained practical strategies to enhance student motivation, engagement, and academic success, ultimately empowering them to create more enriching and motivating learning experiences for their students.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ON “GENDER SENSITIVITY” BY CBSE 13.2.2024

Greenway Modern School organized a Capacity Building Programme on “Gender Sensitivity” by CBSE in the school auditorium on 13 February 2024. The objective of this one-day session was to get an in-depth understanding of what gender sensitization is and the need for building awareness around gender equality.

The session was hosted by Dr. Nivedita and Ms. Rajni, the exponents in the field of Academy and Training sessions. The session started by introducing the speaker Dr. Nivedita Naithani, Innovation Head of Venkateshwar International School and the recipient of the Best Mentor Award from CBSE nationally. She is a certified Global and National AIEF Resource person.

Ms. Rajni Ashat worked as a scientist at Sri Ram Institute. She served DAV School as the Principal for twenty-seven years. She is awarded by the Human Rights Commission for her service in the field of education and she is also awarded Shiksha Ratna by the Governor of Haryana.

Dr. Nivedita started her presentation by listing the session’s objectives. She briefly explained the purpose and significance of gender sensitivity before leading an activity to help all the teachers become aware of the misconceptions and prejudice about gender. She advanced the conversation by describing the difference between gender and sex and the significance of gender equality in all spheres of human existence. A short video was shown on mental health which left everyone with a cue of questions and their hunt for the most appropriate solutions. She continued by outlining how people are required to act, speak, dress, groom, and even conduct themselves according to the gender allocated to them by society.

She emphasized how stereotyped ideas still prevail in society and what are the benefits of gender equality. She gave a reality check through a hand-out on how people behave in specific ways that are considered apparent truths and thus are practiced unconsciously. She, through various examples, discussed the connection between masculinity and gender sensitivity and the need for the eradication of gender-based violence. Ms. Rajni continued the lecture by involving all the attendees in various activities to strengthen their comprehension of the various terms of gender sensitivity. The session was concluded by Ms. Jaishree, the Activity Charge by giving a vote of thanks to the speakers. The workshop served as an eye-opening session for all and helped them understand and respect all genders irrespective of their sexual orientation. It insisted on the relevance of the ‘Law of Acceptance’.

CYBER SAFETY AND SECURITY WORKSHOP - 8.12.2023
On 08 December '23, Friday, Greenway Modern School conducted a workshop for its teaching faculty on Cyber Safety and Security which was addressed by the AVP of KIIPS Learning Pvt. Ltd. and a vivacious speaker, Mr Salman.  The workshop was an eye-opener for all the participants. The striking and sensitive issues related to Social Networking, AI, etc. were discussed by the speaker. The dos and don'ts of the internet, the measures for cybersecurity, and other awareness topics were the main agenda of the workshop.  It was an intellectual and informative session. In the end, a vote of thanks by the school activity coordinator concluded the event. WORKSHOP ON OVARIAN CANCER AWARENESS AND PREVENTION – 27.09.2023
Ovarian cancer is a significant health concern affecting women worldwide. It is often referred to as the “silent killer” because its symptoms are subtle and easily overlooked until the disease has progressed to advanced stages. To raise awareness and promote early detection, a workshop on Ovarian Cancer was held on 27th September,2023 at Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden. This workshop aimed to educate teachers about the risk factors, symptoms, screening methods, and prevention strategies related to ovarian cancer. The workshop commenced with welcoming Dr. Preisha, an Oncologist, at Max Hospital, Vaishali, and introducing the importance of discussing ovarian cancer. Dr. Preisha gave an overview of what ovarian cancer is, its prevalence, and its impact on women’s health. She discussed the risk factors like identifying factors that increase the risk of ovarian cancer, such as age, family history, and genetic mutations. She discussed the subtle signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer that women should be aware of. She told the teachers that early detection and diagnosis can boost the survival rate. Dr. Preisha guided the teachers to explore available screening methods and diagnostic procedures, including pelvic exams, ultrasound, and blood tests. She asked all teachers to adopt a healthy diet and lifestyle to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer. At last, there was a Question & Answer session which was an opportunity for participants to ask questions and seek clarifications. The workshop on ovarian cancer awareness and prevention successfully educated teachers about the risks, symptoms, and prevention strategies associated with this disease. All teachers left with a deeper understanding of ovarian cancer and the importance of early detection. Moreover, the Q&A session ensured that participants had their specific queries addressed. Ovarian cancer is a serious health issue that affects thousands of women each year. Raising awareness and promoting early detection are crucial steps in combating this disease. The workshop served as an informative platform for participants to gain knowledge, share experiences, and take proactive steps toward reducing their risk of ovarian cancer. WORKSHOP ON THE NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020 – 2.9.2023
A Workshop on the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) was held at Greenway Modern School on 2nd September 2023. The event aimed to provide teachers with a comprehensive understanding of the transformative changes introduced in the Indian education system through NEP 2020.

The Key Objectives of the workshop were
1. To familiarize participants with the key highlights and objectives of NEP 2020.
2. To discuss the implications of NEP 2020 on curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy.
3. To explore the role of technology
4. To encourage a dialogue among teachers to address concerns and suggestions regarding NEP 2020’
• The workshop commenced with an inaugural address by Mrs. Anuja Jaitley, Senior coordinator, who emphasized the importance of adapting to the changing education landscape.
Mrs Shweta, an education expert, from Orient Black Swan, delivered a keynote speech, outlining the key components of NEP 2020.
• Participants were divided into groups to engage in interactive discussions and activities.
• Mrs Shweta discussed the changes in classroom teaching methods, emphasizing the shift towards a more holistic and skill-based approach.
• A dedicated session highlighted the role of technology in NEP 2020, with demonstrations of digital tools and platforms that can enhance learning experiences.
• She also addressed questions and concerns raised by the teachers.
•The main focus was on the challenges and opportunities presented by NEP 2020 and ways to ensure its successful implementation.

The workshop on NEP 2020 provided a platform for meaningful discussions and insights into the future of education in India. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the policy’s objectives and its implications. CBSE - WORKSHOP ON NEW EDUCATION POLICY 2020 (NEP 2020)  -15.5.2023

Greenway Modern School organised a workshop for teachers on 15th May 2023 for a better understanding of the New Education Policy 2020 and how it can be implemented in schools effectively. The workshop was presided over by CBSE resource persons Dr. Sandeep Dutta and Dr. Mudita Yadav who ensured an engaging and productive workshop. The event began with lighting the lamp. Senior coordinator Ms Anuja gave a warm welcome to the honourable guests by presenting them with plants and bouquets. Various teachers from different neighbouring schools partook in the workshop. Dr Sandeep threw light on previous NEPs, their pros and cons and the need to bring New Education Policy. He also highlighted the key points which make NEP 2020 different and better than the former one. He also explained the vision of the Education department in the forthcoming years and how is it going to transcend the educational field in a positive way.  The teachers ably comprehended the core of NEP by engaging themselves in many activities and going through Handouts. There was an open session for doubt clearance afterwards which not only cleared teachers’ apprehensions but also infused in them the new zeal to implement NEP.  The workshop was blissfully ended with a vote of thanks given by the Activity In-charge, Ms Jaishree.
