An Interschool competition was organized by the Russian Cultural Centre Delhi and our students brought laurels once again. Anubhav Anand of 9th B got the first position in the quiz competition and Siddhima Bali of 9th C got the first position in a dance competition. A proud moment indeed. In this difficult time of the pandemic, Greenwanians, keeping their zeal and enthusiasm high, participated in the Online CommerceFest that was organized by GD Goenka Public School, Model Town, wherein Dakshita Upadhyay of XII D received the E-Certificate of Excellence and an amazing gift voucher of Rs. 250 as a participation reward. Also, Nitya Aggarwal of XII represented Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, in RPM Inter School Fest SAMPRAVAH-VI that was organized by Lovely Public Sr. Sec. School, Priyadarshini Vihar. It was virtual participation for which Nitya got the Participation Certificate. |
INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION AT RUSSIAN CULTURAL CENTRE

The traditional Days of Russian Language, Literature and Culture, jointly organised by the Representation of #Rossotrudnichestvo in India and the Institute of the Russian Language of the RCSC in New Delhi, was marked on February 4 and 5, 2020. This year, the event was devoted to the Year of memory and glory in Russia and celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.The two-day programme comprised Olympiad in Russian language, Quiz in general knowledge about Russia, poster-making competition “Peace not War”, essay-writing Competition “The Role of Russia in the Victory over Fascism”, Russian poetry recitation competition, dance and music competition, costume competition, etc. On February 4, over 220 students and teachers from DPS Dwarka, Bluebells School International, Amity International School (Mayur Vihar), Amity International Schools (Ghaziabad), St. Xavier School (Gurgaon), Greenway Modern School (Delhi), Dilshad Garden (Delhi), Amitasha (Saket) and Amitasha (Noida).
This year the event had the gracious presence of the delegation of the school from Ivanteevka town, Russia.Prof. Ramadhikari Kumar, President of #INDAPRYAL, was the Chief Guest and Jury at the function on February 4, 2020. In the dance competition, first prize was won by Greenway Modern School and in the Russian poem recitation Chavi Singhal of IX A won the third prize. The prizes were distributed to the winners by the Chief Guest - Prof. Ramadhikari Kumar. In addition to the competitions, the students from schools were engaged in some Russian games to their great interest.
The event proved to be a solid factor of growing interest in India’s young generation to strengthen their knowledge about Russia, a clear indication of further improvement in relations between Russia and India in the years to come. INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION

Vidyarti VIkas Samiti has organised a National level Handwriting and Painting competition for the students of classes I to VIII. Near about 500 students participated in this competition. It was a proud moment that 11 students got first, second and third position respectively. They were awarded with certificate and momento. They also honoured the Principal Mr. Mohit Sachdeva with the National Educator award and also he has been selected as a Special consultant at National Level for his contribution towards the field on Education and other activites. ISA AWARD CEREMONY

La Réussite
The British Council International School Award is a benchmarking scheme that accredits schools with an outstanding level of support for nurturing global citizenship in young people and enriching teaching and learning. This year, the British Council hosted the International School Award ceremony on 6 December 2019 at The Leela Ambience Convention Hall, New Delhi which recognized and celebrated the finest practice of internationalism in schools. Around 400 schools from Northern India received the accreditation this year at the formal award ceremony.
In the grandeur ceremony, successful schools were accredited with the award for the yearly session 2019-22 and one of the winning schools was Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden. There was a congregation of Principals and ISA coordinators of different schools who interacted vividly on networking of schools to promote internationalism in the school curriculum. In the splendacious event the Principal of Greenway Modern School, Mr Mohit Sachdeva and the ISA coordinators who had dedicated themselves in embedding internationalism in their curriculum and took efforts in truly making this world borderless were felicitated with a trophy and a certificate.
In the event, students from different schools of Delhi performed on the stage bringing colors to the celebrations. The students of Greenway Modern School were also given the unprecedented opportunity to perform at the Award Ceremony. Some adept students and teachers of the school presented their ineffable ISA work done at the stall presentation exhibition held in the event. Some students presented a resplendent musical dance drama that was an amalgamation of five of their ISA projects. It was such a frabjous performance that made the audience enthralled and the students accrued many worthy praises.
Receiving the award is like an another feather added to Greenway’s cap and the school aims at producing many more pièce de résistance and successful academic and co-curricular procurements in future as well. Click here for more photographs

YOUTH PARLIAMENT
|
Greenway Modern School organized the 54th Youth Parliament session, under which a Mock Parliament session was conducted by the future leaders who got their first taste in governance. The session was undertaken under a very successful venture initiated by government of India. The session was aimed to insight everyone about the procedure and proceedings of the parliament along with the addressal of some current serious issues, thus providing a potential solution that could be taken further by the government.
It was held under the gracious presence of some eminent guests, who were, Mr.Bratin Sen Gupta, MP, Rajya Sabha, Mr. Anil Kumar undersecretary, Ministry of Parliament Affairs., Dr Y Marka,DDE, NIOS project and Mr Virender Singh, DDE Zone-6. While familiarizing the students with the power of their voice, the youth parliament helped them to develop a sense of responsibility towards their democratic duty and led them to evolve respect and tolerate to the views of every citizen irrespective of regional or communal diversity.
Greenway was amongst the 34 selected schools in the entire Delhi Region to have this session. The Youth Parliament session concluded that the youth are the future pillar of any nation and therefore needs to be prepared properly to unroll as the torchbearers of this noble replay of the world’s biggest Democracy . It was a proud moment for Greenway Modern School as eight students were selected in the merit list for prize distribution:

Eye Donation Fortnight – Directorate General Of Health Services – Govt. Of NCT –Delhi
A eye donation fortnight was organized by Directorate General of Health Services – Govt. of NCT – Delhi. A proud movement for Greenway again , Elena Jeromy of X C got third position in creative Poem writing and Shree Laxmi of VIII – D got Second position in creative essay writing, in Delhi Region. The prize distribution was held at Directorate office Dwarka. The students got a certificate and a memento – A great Achievement ….

A PROUD MOMENT FOR GREENWAY

Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden added another feather in its cap by winning laurels in the field of Sports:
- Nandini Sharma of class VI got Third Position in Skating Championship Event in 500m (In line) and 1000m (In line), conducted by CBSE Central Zone which was held at GR International School.
- The Central Zone Handball Championship was held at Lovely Public School, Priyadarshini Vihar wherein about 32 schools pariticipated and Greenway Modern School boys and girls under 17 were declared as Runners Up.
- CBSE Central zone had conducted Archery Competition at Prudence School, Ashok Vihar wherein Nimisha Kasana of XI B of Greenway Modern School, Dllshad Garden got First Position and made the school proud.
- CBSE Central zone had also conducted Taekwondo Championship which was held at Gyan Mandir Public School, Naraina wherein Khushi Joshi of XI E of the school got First Position.
- CBSE Central Zone had also conducted Swimming Championship and Ashwin Verma of XI A of the school brought laurels by winning First Position in 50 mts and 100 mts free style category and Second Position in 200mts and Third Position in 400 mts in the same.

EDUFAIR-2019
Greenway Modern School had organized a hyperphysical Edufair on 19 October 2019 within the school’s bailey. Principal, Mr Mohit Sachdeva had received the conspicuous guests like Dr Manjeet Singh (Joint Secretary Academics and sports CBSE), Mr Alexey Shaposhnikov (Head of Science and Technology Russian Centre of Science and Culture), Mr Kailash Chandra (Education Officer, National Science Center), Mr Pramod Singh (Associate Editor, The Pioneer) and other venerable persona grata with open arms who had graced the occasion with their placable impendence. Prof. K.G. Suresh, Special Guest had conferred spellbinding elocution about the umpteenth Science models and eulogized the scrupulous travails of pupils for their name worthy projects. Dr Manjeet Singh had lauded the instructional, sports and other quaint curricular activities. Mr Alexey had blithely delegated a breviloquent oration for the volatile lineage of Greenway. The occasion was also graced by the Chairperson Ma’am and Manager sir of the school along with the Vice Principal, Mr Tarun Sachdeva, Ruchi ma’am and Somya ma’am.
In Edufair, science models and projects were indeed the quintessential of Scientific ramification. There were several conjunctions and incorporated performances on wildlife, disaster management, women empowerment in form of nukkadnatak, mime presentation, etc. had showered the hypnotizing repercussion on the multitude. The masquerade on water conservation and forest preservation had brought a wallop and thunderclap among the throng. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony became phenomenal with unwinding balloons.The panorama was quite mesmerizing and could not be depicted.
The judgement of the competition was done by the honourable dignitaries present in the event, Dr Deepak Joshi (faculty Centre for Bio Medical Engineering, IIT Delhi) and Dr. Arnab Chanda (Assistant Professor, IIT Delhi) and Mr Divyajyoti (Stem Robo Technology). The English Promenade was highly appreciated by the present dignitaries. It was a bit of stretch to say that it was a well-turned Edufair for the Academic consortium and prafull students.The winners were awarded with the certificates and memento. Lovely Public School, Priyadarshani Vihar organized a Commerce Fest on 3rd and 4th August. Where near about 25 schools from East Delhi participated in it. It was a privilege for 5 students studying commerce as their field expertise represented Greenway Modern School in this competition.
Students participated in three competitions :- Mergenture, declamation, on the topic, minimum support price and Art competition .Two students Deeksha Devgan and Kushagra Aggarwal participated in Mergenture activity and secured 3rd position . They got a chance to show their entrepreneurship skills in front of everyone by presenting a business to them. The students were awarded by a trophy and coffee mugs. All students were given participation certificates. Participating in the competitions proved to be a fruitful experience for all and added another feather to Greenway’s cap.
YOUR MESSAGE TO INDIAN SOLDIERS AS A SALUTE TO THE REAL NATION HERO
NDTV Organized an art competition for the classes I to X, on the topic Art with a purpose and the sub topic being “Your message to Indian soldiers as a salute to the real nation hero” It had 100 percent participation of students. With great enthusiasm and zeal they sketched their feelings through their paintings. They put their heart and soul to give a tribute to our brave soldiers who are the real warriors of our country. The nine paintings were selected.
Out of these 9 paintings, Arham of VII B got the opportunity to go to Wagah Border. There were 12 paintings selected from all over India. Nearly 3 lakh students had participated in this competition. The paintings were divided in 3 groups: Group A- 1 to 3, Group B- 4 to 7, and Group C- 8 to 10. It was a proud moment for the Greenwanians when Arham’s name was announced as the winner from Group B. He won a cheque of Rs.75000 and a memento. The school also got a memento. A proud moment for the school which would be cherished for the years to come. The student had accompanied the drawing teacher: Ms. Anita.
SCHOOL SUPER LEAGUE COMPETITION – 01-08-2018
On August 1, 2018 (Wednesday), the Discovery Channel, in association with BYJU’s: The Learning App organized the School Super League 2018, an offline quiz, in which the school had actively participated. It was a competition to conduct for classes 3-8. The children were given a question paper consisting 20 questions to answer on an OMR sheet. The questions were mainly based on the subjects- Science, Maths, and English. The questionnaire contained reasoning and aptitude based questions that made the students use their cognitive abilities to the best. The competition has three stages: the first one was the preliminary level and at further, two stage, the selected students would be representing the school at National standards. The finalists would be competing with other contestants from all over India live on Discovery Channel.
The League has given a start up to the students to face the competitions and challenges ahead. It had geared up all the Greenwanians to prepare themselves for the competitive exams that will be coming to their way in future. On the whole, the competition has replenished the critical thinking of the students and has imbued the students with a different zeal and confidence.
