On 31 May 2020, Primary and Secondary Maths teachers of Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, earned a window of opportunity to be a part of a Maths Seminar held online. The webinar was conducted by Mr, Sreehari Kulur, wherein the maths faculties of the school learned about online teaching techniques in Mathematics for primary and secondary level students. The session made the teachers know about the interesting ways of teaching mathematics. Some tricks of Vedic Maths, use of Excel for teaching LCM, etc, tips related to the teaching of Multiplication, how to create tests and quizzes by using Google Forms, applying magic squares, mathematical housie, etc were the highlights of the seminar. Teachers were also given knowledge about a website ‘that quiz’ to use for Mental Maths. The session mainly focussed on ways to deliver online teaching to students. Overall it was a good experience for all the teachers as it enabled them to learn many new techniques to teach the subject.

On 31 May 2020, a webinar was held for NCC students wherein the students interacted live with the other students all over the country. As we know that the CADET program is a Personality Development program that focusses on developing a high degree of Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking among NCC cadets. It also tells the cadets to be confident and work on their skills.  The speaker of the session Mr. R. Dhirendra with the other two teachers shared their experiences and the benefits received from NCC with the students. All the students put forth their queries and doubts which were satisfactorily answered by the speakers and they also gave important suggestions for choosing the right stream for the future and selecting the right job according to the skills and interest. The speakers encouraged the students to be in touch with them on their social networking sites such as twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc to get their queries resolved anytime. They also emboldened the students to attend their next webinar that will be held on 14 June 2020. It was a very informative session.

On 30 May 2020, students of class XII of Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, earned an opportune occasion to attend a counseling session on emerging careers and communication skills. It was a zoom session which was overseen and conducted by Mr. Gyan Sharma, who is working with a renowned university and has organized many such sessions with other reputed schools, colleges, and so on. Mr. Gyan Sharma encased all the aspects of various careers and their opportunities for the students. The students also got to how they can make their careers in fields like- aerospace engineering, IT, and AI and in other streams. The students were also made to navigate to the courses open for them from all disciplines. In the session, the students also put forth their questions and queries which were satisfactorily resolved by Mr. Gyan Sharma who furthermore discussed each and every possible stream career opportunity for the students in detail. The students found the session worth the learning experience.

This is another feather added to the school’s cap that six students of Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, have been selected for ISTO National Round. The students are Amaan Rashid (VA), Kushagra Mishra (XD), Digant Prakash(XD), Divjot Singh Rai (XD),   Md. Omar Khan (XIC) and Utkarsh Chaudhary (XIC). It is really a proud moment and indeed a great achievement for the school.  The Principal of the school, Mr. Mohit Sachdeva, wholeheartedly appreciated the efforts of the Students and the teachers.

An online innovative session on inclusive innovation through ATL was conducted wherein two teachers Ms. Jaishree Shreedharan and Ms. Shruti Barman partook in. It was a very informative session in which Mr. R Ramanan,  Mission Director, AIM, along with the guest speakers, Dr. Rama Vaidyanathan, RMoC Tamil Nadu, and Mrs. Baghyalakshmi, ATL in- charge, Jaigopal Garodia Govt Girls HSS Choolaimedu, Chennai, motivated the participants on how they can create interest in the students and the parameters to do so. He also emphasized how the labs are being created in remote areas, also in girls' schools. They also talked about the innovative students who are in class 12^th to get some benefit from their innovations during the time of their admission and for the same talks are being held with AICTE AND Universities. The session ended with a promising note that if there is a will, there is a way and if we are determined,  we can achieve anything. Parents volunteers can also be included in the league, which was suggested in the session.  

On 23 May 2020, a training session cum workshop was organized by Microsoft  Teams executives. Amongst all the schools using MS Teams app for virtual teaching to their students, Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden was shortlisted by MS Teams people to train their teachers. The two-hour workshop was conducted by Mr. Jatin Vashishth from Juana Technologies who was also the skilled trainer of the session.  The session was very instructive and potent. In the session, the teachers of the school were made acquainted with all the updated features of the app and were introduced to a new hallway to get educated and enlighten themselves in the world of virtual learning. The session made the teachers experience that there lies a new scope of learning and achieving athwart their academic profiles. The teachers were told about a new platform created for teachers by Microsoft that allows every teacher to do multiple courses ahead and strengthen their profiles and be MIEs or MIEEs.  In the last of the session, all the teachers were given a Certificate of Participation acknowledged by Microsoft. It was a worthwhile experience of learning for the teachers.  

“The strategic active engagement of students,  in opportunities to learn through doing, which empowers them to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical endeavors in a multitude of settings inside and outside of the classroom.”  By keeping such thoughts in mind  Ms. Nancy Gupta, TGT Natural Science, took an initiative to provide activity-based learning in her virtual classes where all the students of class VII participated actively & performed well. The activity was to make a homemade stethoscope in which students learned to make their own stethoscope & were able to hear the difference between active and resting heartbeats as well as the difference between their own heartbeat & the heartbeat of others in the house.

The students of Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden got a golden opportunity to attend an ATL workshop which was conducted by Lovely Public Senior Secondary School.  It was an amazing workshop performed by three teachers of the field. The first one was Mr. Aditya Aggarwal who introduced the students with how AI  and Python work. The second mentor was Mrs. Amrutha who introduced the students with  how Al works in Health Care and lastly it was Mr.Ashish Ohra who introduced all how python and AI help us financially . They gave the students the knowledge about AI in such a beautiful and easy manner that was worth praising . They even took the students to a beautiful website (Teachable Machine) where they learnt how AI recognises images and video.All the students even got an opportunity to see a code in python for making one's own mask and face detector. The code was really brilliant as the students used open cv first time in python. The students also learnt about various new functions and commands such as : ret, read , cv2 ,cvtcolor and many more. It was really a fabulous ATL workshop and such workshops are a very good opportunity for the students, the budding inventors, to learn how python can be used in daily life.

On 16 May, 2020, Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, organized its first PTM for the session 2020-21. It was an online PTM wherein Teachers  of all the three  wings (Primary, Middle and Senior) and the Parents rationally discussed about the academic performance and areas of concern of the students. It was a very interactive session  and came out as a fascinating and riveting experience for the staff as well as the parents. The parents  partook  in the session and interacted with all the subject faculties of their ward and got to know how the students are performing in the virtual classes. All the parents highly appreciated and acknowledged  the initiative of the school and adored and praised the efforts of all the teachers put in the virtual teaching learning . Parents emboldened and acclaimed the initiative of the school with their valuable and benignant feedbacks.

 Mother’s Day Celebration in Greenway

The day that celebrates the love, teachings, compassion, and essence of a mother is Mother’s Day. The mother-child relationship is a sacred bond. This day is a rejoicement for all the children and there could not be a more universal celebration than to celebrate Mother’s Day. Keeping the same zeal and ebullience, Greenwanians celebrated Mother’s Day at homes. The students of Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, showered their love and bestowed fealty to their mothers by contributing to making posters, adorable cards, messages filled with innocence and concern, self-composed poems and even proffered their cooking abilities to their mothers by having non-fire cooking at home for them. The students also made beautiful handmade gifts for their mothers and each way of expressing their gratitude was special and unique in their own way. The principal of the school, Mr. Mohit Sachdeva, felt delighted to see the enthusiasm of the students and also praised their efforts put in and inspired the students to inculcate virtuous deeds and resort to ethical ways that make the parents happy
