The COVID-19-pandemic has affected all of us in many ways, especially the mobility of the students for the Exchange Programme. Despite all this Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden once again gave a chance to its students for exhibiting their talent in a new way i.e through the Virtual Exchange Program with MOKDONG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL of SOUTH KOREA. An online session was organized on 23.06.2021 wherein, our talented Greenwanians of Class 7 got an opportunity to showcase the culture and heritage of their country, school, and families through videos and PPTs. Through this virtual session, the Korean students were accustomed to the rich cultural traditions, food habits, and diverse attributes of India through a virtual trip to India and also about the nuclear and joint families. Exchange of questions was there and all the queries were answered in a very lively way. This Virtual Exchange Programme helped the students of both the schools to exhibit higher degrees of awareness and acceptance for cultural diversity. The Principal of the school Mr. Mohit Sachdeva appreciated the efforts of the students & teachers.

International Yoga Day is celebrated all over the world on June 21st across the globe. The theme for this year's International yoga day 2021 is 'YOGA FOR WELL BEING"
YOGA is the dance of every cell with the music of every breath that creates inner serenity and harmony. Yoga not only provides physical& mental relaxation but also develops strength and resilience. The numerous benefits of yoga make it a popular practice for people across the globe especially in times of pandemic when mental & physical health is under stress.
To commemorate yoga day Greenway Modern School celebrated YOGA WEEK from 15th June 2021 to 21st June 2021 in which the students and teachers actively participated. The students depicted various asanas through posters, videos, and a quiz was also especially conducted for class 11th &12th students. Videos were shown to students to make them understand how yoga is beneficial. The subject teachers integrated yoga with their respective subject is CREATIVE ART INTEGRATION.
A highly effective and influential yoga session was kept for teachers by renowned yoga therapist founder trustee of Anubhuti Yog. She explained through simple yoga asanas how stress can be relieved.
The Principal of the school Mr.Mohit Sachdeva appreciated the efforts of teachers in celebrating yoga week and congratulated the students for their active participation.

Students of Pre School & Pre Primary celebrated Father’s Day on a virtual platform on 20th June, 2021with enthusiasm.

Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.

Students showcased their love and respect for their fathers by making beautiful cards for them. It was a gesture truly appreciated by the fathers.

On 18 June 2021, Greenway Modern School conducted an informal interactive session (Samvad) with the newly joined students of Classes IX to XII.  It was a virtual session that was conducted on Zoom. The session was a rendezvous of the students and the dynamic principal of the school, Mr. Mohit Sachdeva who not only interacted well with the students but also emboldened them to toil and strive to be the best version of themselves and bring laurels to the school. The audience was welcomed by the Senior in Incharge of the school, Ms. Manisha Bhagee. The students have exhibited a virtual tour of the school which was immensely adored by them. The session ended with the heartfelt vote of thanks of the senior in charge.   It was a worthwhile experience for the students.

Father's Day is celebrated across the world with the objective of realizing and honoring the contribution of fathers in the family. It is a day that celebrates fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the efforts of Male parents towards their children.
Greenway Modern school celebrated Father's Day virtually with enthusiasm they showcased their love and respect for their fathers through various activities such as photo collage, greeting cards, fridge magnet, key chains, posters, and senior wing students made a short video expressing their gratitude towards their father.
The Principal of the school Mr. Mohit Sachdeva congratulated the students who actively participated and appreciated the efforts of the teachers that even during the Pandemic they are taking efforts to do all activities on a virtual platform.

A recent class of Nursery took on an interesting turn when they celebrated summer and discussed the popular summer fruit, the ‘watermelon’. Teachers described its shape, color, and benefits to students. Every child had a watermelon which they were eager to explore and taste. They learned about the rind, seeds, and the red fleshy part pulp which is edible.

What an interesting way to motivate children to eat seasonal fruit. It was a fun-filled activity where children explored, learned, and enjoyed.

Moving Forward to the next decade........

As the Covid 19 pandemic is still unraveling, imposing travel restrictions, closure of schools have impacted the students a lot. Against this backdrop Greenway Modern School Dilshad Garden once again adopted a new approach to help its students gain international perspective and experience by encouraging a virtual exchange programme for its primary wing class 5 students with YEONYANG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SOUTH KOREA. This way around 20 students from class 5 of greenway digitally (via zoom) to share their knowledge and learn from each other. During this first virtual session held on 16th June 2021, the Korean students were acquainted with the rich cultural traditions, food habit and diverse attributes of India through a virtual trip to India. The young Greenwanians spoke about their school and academics. The queries of the Korean Students related to food habits music school life etc were acknowledged by smart answers of our students. The Bengali Song EKLA CHALO RE, sung by our student was much applauded. This virtual exchange programme has given the students of both the schools a perfect platform to share unique experiences and deep insights and develops cross-cultural collaborative communication without any boundaries constraints. "Yoga is the journey that cannot be dimmed and keeps you healthy!"...

 Greenway Modern School is going to celebrate YOGA WEEK from 16th June to 21st June 2021 to commemorate WORLD YOGA DAY which is on 21st June 2021.

During these sessions the students will be taught various Yogasanas, Art integrated Activities will be done where  yoga will be integrated with languages, and Quiz based on  Yoga will be conducted

We all are going through a challenging period but, Greenwanians have shown a great deal of zeal and enthusiasm by keeping a balance in both education and extra-curricular activities.

We are happy to share our school’s annual magazine, ‘DARPAN’, a kaleidoscope of all the achievements/activities/workshops/celebrations held during the session of 2020-21. We are also sharing the GREENWAY TIMES an E-newspaper covering the activities during the new session held between April and May 2021-22.

The Principal of the school congratulated the Student Editorial team and the teachers involved in the work of the magazine and E-newspaper. A special mention was also made to the students who have been actively participating and co-operating in all educational and co-curricular activities.

Foreign Exchange Programmes are an integral part of Greenwanians. It is one of the best ways to challenge students to develop a global perspective. It enriches the personal development of students with life-enriching experiences. These interactions have proved to be effective platforms for the exchange of pedagogical practices, networking, imbibing of new styles, building connections, and giving insights into different cultures.
After the overwhelming response of the exchange program, the school proposes to organize the online exchange program with Yeongyang Elementary School for class 5 students & Modding Elementary School from South Korea for class 7 students for four months from June to December 2021.
A deep dive into each other’s cultures and enriching experiences would be upfront for Greenwanians with a plethora of online activities

Greenway Modern school celebrated World Environment Day virtually with great fanfare on June 5th, 2021. The main purpose of the celebration was to spread awareness about the need to protect the environment and the ways to do it. The students planted saplings and took a pledge to save the environment. They made posters, wrote slogans, articles self-composed poems.  The Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of the students & teachers that even during Pandemic the students are taking initiative to protect the environment.

EARTH DAY

 Each year 22^nd of April is celebrated as Earth Day.  It is celebrated to create awareness about protecting our planet and preserving the environment was on this occasion, a fancy dress.

Organized for the students of class Pre Primary of Greenway Nursery School, Dilshad Garden.  Children dressed up as Trees, Animals, Water, etc., and spoke lines on how to save water, trees, electricity, nature.  This activity also helped students to develop their speaking skills and confidence.

FRUIT PARTY

 The Fruit party organized on 4^th May 2021, was a fun-filled day for the students of Greenway Nursery School, Dilshad Garden. 

The occasion was used to educate the students about the importance and consumption of fruits in a regular diet. 

The tiny tots also learned more about the taste, smell, color, and texture of each fruit.  Teachers clearly explained to students, the importance of washing the fruits before eating and also the benefits of eating fresh fruits. 

Discussion about seasonal fruits available from April to July was also done on MS Teams with the students. 

Children enjoyed eating yummy, fresh fruits.

MOTHER’S DAY

Mother’s Day is a special day of the year, dedicated to all mothers.  Mothers hold a special place in the hearts of children.  The students of Pre School and Pre Primary of Greenway Nursery School, Dilshad Garden, were given an opportunity to show their appreciation for their mothers.  To show their love and respect for their mother, the young Greenwanians made beautiful cards with handprints and presented them with love.  Mothers were very happy to receive these beautiful handmade cards.

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY

Greenway Modern school celebrated NO TOBACCO DAY online in which the students depicted the Harmful effects of tobacco through posters, slogans, and some students wrote self-composed poems. The principal of the school appreciated the efforts of the teachers & students.
