14th August “Partition Horror Remember Days”  The day of remembrance known as Division Horrors Remembrance Day, which falls on August 14th, was first proclaimed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2021 and honors those who perished and endured pain during India’s partition. On this day, many Indians who suffered during the Partition are remembered.    Numerous families were uprooted, and many people perished in the partition. In order to further enhance the spirit of unity, social peace, and personal empowerment, it is intended to serve as a reminder to Indians of the need to eliminate societal differences and discord. Two hundred thousand to two million people had died and 10 to 20 million had been displaced as a result of the split.  Greenway Modern School likewise took the initiative to remember people who suffered during India’s partition in commemoration of the same. To commemorate Division Horrors Remembrance Day, a wall exhibition was set up in school. The entire staff, both teaching, and non-teaching, were present to grace the program. The relevant picture is attached for reference.

Independence Day celebrations are a wonderful way to introduce young children to the significance of their country’s freedom. These events instill a sense of patriotism and unity.  The festivities at Greenway Nursery School began with a brief explanation of what Independence Day signifies, simplifying the concepts for the students to grasp.  Craft sessions played a crucial role in these celebrations. Students did a paper tearing and pasting activity on the National Flag.   Music and dance also took center stage, as students enthusiastically participated in singing patriotic songs and performing simple choreographies. This encouraged a lively atmosphere and enhanced their connection to their country’s culture. The program concluded with the hoisting of the National Flag.   Teachers and students wore outfits in the colors of the national flag. This fostered a sense of identity and pride amongst the young ones.  Thus Independence Day celebration in school highlighted the importance of unity in a multicultural society, helping children understand the beauty of different backgrounds coming together under the umbrella of the nation.

The Greenwanians emerged victorious in the *The Quest*- Inter-School Competition organized by Mahavir Model Senior Sec. School.  This achievement is a testament to our students' determination, passion, and consistent efforts. They have not only made us immensely proud but have also showcased their potential to excel in their chosen

COMMEMORATING FREEDOM

On 14^th August 2023, Greenway Modern School conducted a special assembly on the occasion of Independence Day. The assembly was organized by Love House. The school's 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event aimed to commemorate the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, reflect on our nation's journey and inspire a sense of unity and patriotism among the students. The assembly began with the dignified flag-hoisting ceremony. The tricolor national flag was unfurled by the school In- charge, Ms. Anuja Jaitly, while the school band played the national anthem. The sight of the fluttering flag evoked a deep sense of pride and respect among all attendees.

The cultural extravaganza commenced with a series of performances showcasing India's history through a Dance Drama. Students from different grades presented patriotic songs. A heartwarming tribute was paid to our freedom fighters through a theatrical performance. The portrayal of key figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, etc highlighted their contributions and sacrifices. The performance served as a reminder of the invaluable role they played in shaping our nation's destiny. India’s current achievements were also highlighted and displayed through a tableau.

Not only the special assembly was conducted, all the classes showed their patriotism and zeal by participating in different activities conducted class-wise like Slogan Writing, Tricolour Fan Making, etc. A vote of thanks was given by the Activity In charge of the school, Ms Jaishree who appreciated the efforts of the students as well as the teachers.

The event succeeded in instilling a sense of pride, unity, and commitment to the future of our great nation.

The students of classes XI and XII studying psychology attended an internship program during the summer vacations organized by Fortis Hospital. The internship was conducted in a professional setting with supervised training methods and presentations. The students were exposed to practical knowledge and were introduced to various methods and training to be used when working in the field of psychology. The theoretical concepts were highlighted and proved through practical experiments. Topics included clinical disorders, therapeutic understanding, and psychological interviewing. Many myths and taboos about the field were discussed and students were encouraged to be a part of it.

A special thanks to Dr. Samir Parikh for giving his valuable time to students.

An awareness session has been organized by Procter & Gamble for classes 5th& 6th girls at Greenway Modern School on 31st july 2023 to make them aware of the physical changes which take place in girls' bodies. The instructor explained the topic in a detailed manner with the help of real-life examples. She showed a detailed video on the 'menstrual cycle' in which important information was given.  In the end, the instructor has taken all the doubts of the students attentive

The English Rhyme Recitation Competition is an exciting event designed to cultivate a love for language, foster creativity, and boost confidence among preschool and pre-primary students. This competition provides an opportunity for young learners to showcase their linguistic abilities, express their emotions, and develop their communication skills in a supportive and fun environment.    The primary objective of this Competition was to encourage children to engage with English poetry, and develop their pronunciation, diction, and memorization skills. It aimed to create a platform where the students could exhibit their unique talents, build self-assurance, and lay a strong foundation for their future learning journey.  The competition was held within the school premises, with participants performing individually on stage. Each participant had the opportunity to recite one English rhyme of their choice, with age-appropriate content and language suitable for preschool and pre-primary students.  The competition was judged on the basis of the following criteria:  Clarity / Pronunciation / Voice  Modulation, Confidence, Memory, Costume, and Props  To promote a sense of achievement and motivation, the best performers were awarded special certificates of excellence and small tokens of appreciation.
