Every year on October 31st National Unity Day/ Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is commemorated.  Under the EK BHARAT SHRESTHA BHARAT Activity GREENWAY, MODERN SCHOOL observed Ekta Diwas. The day is celebrated to recognize the birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. The students took the pledge to preserve the unity, integrity, and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among fellow countrymen

The second Intra-cultural exchange program with South Korea was an addition of a feather in the series of cultural exchange programs. It was held on 18^th October 2021, with the active participation of Mokdong Elementary School of South Korea. It was a great opportunity to showcase the acting talent of Greenwanians.

The students enacted the famous traditional story ‘Alibaba and forty thieves. The video of the story was a beautiful amalgam of students’ acting, delivering of dialogues, and virtual scene settings. It was based on the theme ‘One should not allow greed to rule our lives. Some clippings of Indian festivals were also presented showing their significance.

In return they made us familiarize ourselves with their special holidays in summer and winter. They exhibited their ways of celebrating them and the dishes they cook on these auspicious days. One of the students narrated a famous traditional story of South Korea ‘HEUNGBU AND NOLBU’. The story has a great cultural significance as it challenges the common Korean value that the eldest son is the most important child of the family.

Hence, the program ended after one hour with great applause.

In the continuation of the edutainment bond between South Korea and India,  the Second Online Cultural Exchange was held on 12^th October 2021 with the students of Yang Yang Elementary School South Korea.

The little Greenwanians of Class 5 shared about the global issue –The environment.

The students expressed their views about the rising pollution and how to tackle the problems by saving their trees, banning single-use plastic, management of waste, and cleaning the rivers and oceans.

The students also encouraged their fellow students to take a pledge to imbibe some basic habits to contribute to the saving of the environment. In addition to this,  the Koreans took a ride to India by showing them videos of the major festivals of India.  On the other hand, the students of Yang Yang elementary school made students aware of the rising environmental crisis and how to contribute to saving the environment by their small actions. PPTs and videos were shown by the students.

The program concluded with a positive note of being together as earth mates and saving mother earth.

Dussehra is a popular Hindu festival that marks the victory of good over evil.

An online program was organized on 15.10.2021 wherein, our talented Greenwanians of Classes 6 to 9 got an opportunity to showcase the culture and heritage of their country through skit and dance.

Students depicted Ramayana, Mahishasura vadh, and Dandiya. All the children participated enthusiastically.

The Principal of the school Mr. Mohit Sachdeva appreciated the efforts of the students & teachers. He told the students that the purpose of organizing this celebration was to make everyone aware of the repeated message, i.e. the triumph of virtue over the vice. He congratulated the teachers and the students for such a wonderful program.

Udaan, The Centre of Theatre, Art & Child development had organized ‘AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV’ QUIZ COMPETITION in association with INDRA GANDHI NATIONAL CENTRE FOR THE ARTS, MINISTRY OF CULTURE Government of India on 15^th October 2021.  Students of Greenway Modern School actively participated in this quiz competition and it's an honor that Shrishti Gupta of class 10th B got the third position (under Classes IX to XII category). She will be getting a cash prize of Rs.2100/ and a certificate. A big achievement for the school. The Principal of the school congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the students and the winner.  This Competition was at the All India Level. She will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.2100/- and a Certificate.  The felicitation ceremony will be held on 21^st October 2021 at the IGNCA Auditorium, Hotel Janpath.

The Pre School and Pre Primary students of Greenway Nursery School celebrated a Virtual Navratri and Dussehra with great enthusiasm and fun.

Students made a picture of Goddess Durga and did fingerprinting on it and decorated it with mirrors.

Teachers presented Virtual Ramlila 2021 for the students.  For 9 days, one scene each was sent to the students.  Teachers enacted very well and depicted all the important scenes.  Students, as well as parents, enjoyed it a lot.

On the 10^th day i.e Dussehra, an effigy of Ravana was burnt and students were also told the lesson learned from Ramayana.

Children also made puppets of Ravana.

Greenway Modern School Dilshad Garden Delhi -95 organized Orientation Session for Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Exam on 8th October 2021. VVM is India’s largest online talent search exam organized by Vigyan Prasar in collaboration with CBSE, NCERT, and Vijnana Bharati. 

The session was conducted by Dr. Mayuri Dutt, National Co-Convener of VVM. Dr. Mayuri Dutt briefed students about the details of the exam and its benefits. She also made students aware of various internships and Bhaskara scholarships offered by VVM to all national-level winners. She also guided students about the Mega National-wide experiment event based on the food habits of students. 

The session ended with the Question & Answer round and the resource person answered all the queries of the students.

The session was held under the able guidance of Ms. Manisha Bhagee, Sr. Academic Coordinator. The welcome address was extended by the school VVM coordinator Ms. Manju Kasana and a vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Jayshree Sridharan, Sr. Activity in charge. The session was attended by the teachers and 275 students of classes VI to XI

The Principal of the school Mr. Mohit Sachdeva appreciated the effort and the initiative taken by the teacher in-charges for arranging such an innovative workshop.

As per circular 2348_97:dated 4th October 2021, the students were made aware of the importance of planting saplings/gardening. The students actively took part in these activities and understood the importance of planting the saplings.

The Principal of the school also planted a sapling.

Gandhi Jayanti is observed by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation. Students of Greenway Nursery School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti virtually with enthusiasm on 1st October 2021. 

Pre School students made Gandhiji’s 3 monkeys using Ice- cream sticks and paper.  They were explained that the 2 wise monkeys referred to the 3 rules to follow, “see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil”. 

Pre Primary students made charkha using pop sticks, thread, and paper.  They were guided along by the teachers. 

The teachers told the children, the importance of what Gandhiji taught.  They were also shown a small movie on Mahatma Gandhi. 

Efforts of small children were highly appreciated by the Principal.
