                TABLE MANNERS ACTIVITY - PRE-PRIMARY

The primary goal of the table manners activity in class Pre-Primary is to instill basic etiquette and social skills in young children. This activity helps them understand the importance of polite behavior during meals, which is crucial to their overall social development.

Greenway Nursery School organized a Table Manners Activity for its students to instill basic etiquette. The teachers began the activity by briefly discussing what table manners are and why they are important. The teachers demonstrated proper table manners through a small skit by sitting at a table and going through the motions of a meal. They highlighted key behaviors like placing the napkin on the lap, using cutlery correctly, not talking with a full mouth, and politely asking for items to be passed.  A few students were made to sit along with the teachers and encouraged to show what they had learned. Students were told the importance of practicing good manners at home and in other places. Students created placemats with table manners tips with the help of their teachers.

The table manners activity in school is an engaging and practical way to teach young children the basics of polite behavior during meals. By making the learning process fun and interactive, children are more likely to retain and practice these important social skills, contributing to their overall development and readiness for future social interactions.
