Baisakhi is a vibrant and significant festival celebrated by Sikhs and Punjabis worldwide. This auspicious occasion marks the beginning of the Sikh New Year. In schools, Baisakhi provides a wonderful opportunity to introduce young children to the rich traditions, values, and customs of this festival.

Greenway Nursery School celebrated Baisakhi with great pomp and show. Teachers began the celebration by narrating stories about Baisakhi, such as the story of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the formation of the Khalsa.  Children came dressed up in traditional Punjabi attire such as colorful suits, turbans, and dupattas. This hands-on activity allowed children to experience the vibrant cultural clothing associated with Baisakhi. Teachers also engaged children in Baisakhi-themed arts and crafts activities. They created their paper kites, which is a symbol of Baisakhi.

    An enriching CUET Workshop was organized by Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden by Hindustan Times. Commerce and Humanities students of class 12 participated in the workshop. This workshop was organized with the objective of career counseling and carving a path for the desired destination. The chief speaker was Mr Siddharth. The speaker first engaged students in a discussion about the need for CUET, then proceeded with its benefits for all students. He gave comprehensive information about the Common University Entrance Test including subjects, sections and languages to be studied. He further elaborated on the right time for its preparation as well as how to prepare for it. All the students became acquainted with new courses and colleges after 12th which would prove to be very fruitful for them. Overall, this was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic seminar and the school would look forward to organizing more such workshops.

      Eid-ul-Fitr, a joyous and significant Islamic festival, is celebrated by Muslims around the world. In Greenway Nursery School, this occasion offered a wonderful opportunity to foster cultural understanding, unity, and joy among students.

      Students were introduced to the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr through storytelling sessions. Teachers shared stories about the importance of charity (Zakat), fasting (Sawm), and the joy of breaking the fast. This helped children understand the values of empathy, generosity, and gratitude.  Creative activities engaged children in the festive spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr. They made colorful greeting cards for family and friends and hugged and wished each other Eid Mubarak. These activities not only fostered creativity but also taught them about cultural traditions. Students of Pre Primary came dressed in traditional Eid attire, such as green suits, lehengas, and kurtas which added a fun element to the celebration. No celebration is complete without delicious food! Children brought sewain in their tiffin box.

      It was a fun-filled day for our young students.

         Greenway Modern School believes in nurturing not only the minds but also the bodies of our students. In commemoration of Health Day, students from the primary, middle, and senior wings enthusiastically participated in a range of activities aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyles. 

         Our youngest learners of classes 1 and 2 kicked off the day by having a healthy breakfast related to Millet, class 3,4, and 5, brought half-cooked sweets related to millet, and garnished them in the school.  These activities were designed to instill the importance of health and fitness from an early age. 

        The middle-wing students embraced the spirit of Health Day by making millet charts and giving presentations on millets. Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, students gained valuable insights into maintaining a balanced lifestyle amidst their academic pursuits.

         In the senior wing, students showcased their commitment to health and wellness through a series of dynamic activities, cooking without fire for classes 9 and 10 and poster making and slogan writing for class 12.

         The collective enthusiasm and active participation of students made The World Health Day celebrations truly memorable. As a school community, we remain dedicated to fostering a culture of health and wellness, ensuring that our students not only excel academically but also lead fulfilling and healthy lives. We look forward to continuing our journey towards a healthier future, guided by the spirit of camaraderie and commitment to well-being.

            Greenway Modern School organized an orientation session on 1 April 2024 for the parents of class 6 and class 8 students. The session apprised the parents of an overview of the school's mission, values, and education approach. The parents were also informed about the structure of the curriculum, subjects, and learning objectives for the upcoming (2024-25)session.  The orientation session also highlighted some of the significant points mentioned below:

            • Academic Expectations: Clarifying academic standards, grading policies, and expectations for students' performance.
            • Extracurricular Activities: Highlighting the range of extracurricular programs available in the school and their importance in the holistic development of students.
            • Q&A Session: Parents were asked about the concerns they may have about the upcoming academic year.

            The orientation session was concluded with fruitful suggestions given by parents and indeed the session proved to be a great success after all the efforts of the middle wing in charge Ms.Sarita Sirswal.  The session saw its blissful ending with a Vote of Thanks and positive statements from the parents.

              Greenway Modern School had the pleasure of hosting an orientation session for Classes 1 to 5, held on 1st April 2024. The event was designed to provide parents and guardians with valuable information about examination patterns, extracurricular activities, and important policies.

              The agenda for the orientation program was the New Education Policy under NCF, examination pattern, introducing changes in examination pattern, and the detention policy. During the orientation, parents and guardians had the opportunity to meet with our dedicated faculty members who shared insights into our curriculum and academic expectations. They also learned about our commitment to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Additionally, attendees were briefed on the various extracurricular activities and enrichment programs available at our school, aimed at fostering holistic development and nurturing students’ talents and interests beyond the classroom. Our administrators addressed any queries or concerns raised by the parents, ensuring transparency and clear communication regarding school policies, procedures, and upcoming events.

              Overall, the orientation was a resounding success, providing families with a comprehensive overview of what to expect at our school and fostering a sense of community and partnership between the school, students, and parents.
