Greenway Modern School observed Vigilance awareness Week from 29th October, 2018 to 3rd November 2018. The theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week was ‘Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India’.

The school organized different activities during this week in which the students of the school participated wholeheartedly. During the Vigilance Awareness Week, the students of the school displayed Banners, Hoardings, Posters, etc.  The students, teachers and other staff members of the school took ‘Integrity Pledge’ in the school on 29th October,2018 .An awareness on the ill effects of corruption was created among others by the students and the staff of the school. Discussions, Debates and Quiz were organized on moral values, ethics , good governance practices, etc.

Lecture cum interactive session was organized for class X and XII students on ethics and integrity during examinations.

The students and the staff of Greenway Modern School enthusiastically participated in all the activities conducted during the week and achieved the objective of eliminating corruption and promoting integrity.


    On 31 October 2018[Wednesday], Greenway Modern Senor Sec. School celebrated RASHTRIYA EKTA DIVAS to commemorate 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai  Patel, the Iron Man of India and one of the founding leaders of Republic of India and who was instrumental in keeping India united.. The school conducted various activities in its premises. The activities performed by the students of the school were:

    ·        Prabhat Pheri of upper primary classes

    ·        Unity Run by students of classes IX to XII

    ·        Oath(Pledge) taken by all school children

    ·        Circulation of a paragraph on the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for National Unity in the School

    The occasion provided every Greenwanian  an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.



      Event was held on 30.10.2018   

      A workshop was organized by the personal of Fire Department, Tahipur, Delhi in Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden on 30thoct 2018, to make the students aware about the safety measures to be taken in case of fire.

      The students were demonstrated how to use the fire extinguishers in case of fire. As Diwali is approaching the personals explained that there are more chances of fire and they requested students to be more vigilant and gave the emergency number of fire department so that the proper action can be taken and there are no calamities. It was an informative session for the students as well as the teachers.


        Event was held in the month of October 2018   

        The Ministry of Power in Association with Bureau of Energy Efficiency Organised a National Awareness Campaign involving children to enable them into inculcate the habit of energy conservation. The aim was to sensitise the children towards issue of energy conservation,. In this regard a painting competition was organized in Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden. Near about 1000 students participated in group A and Group B. The best paintings which were selected from group A was of Samidha IV A and Samridh Goyal of IX A


          Mrs Yogyata Mathur ATL In charge along with two students attended workshop on patenting and copyright at Ramjas School, R.K.Puram where in basic guidelines were given to help young innovators to get their innovation patent..

          Dr. K.S was the key note speaker. He is the head of IPR office , Delhi, with history of working for around 35 years in the legal services industry specially in IPR> skilled in Patent Litigation, International IP Law, Patent Prosecution, Competition Law, and Legal Research. Strong Professional with a Master of Laws(L.L.M), Ph.D  focused in Intellectual Property Law from Delhi University. The other speaker  was Dr. R.C. Aggarwal who is registrar general in “Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Right Authority” of Central Government which provides patents to Plant and Tress. Dr. Agrawal has traveled to more than 20 countries to lead India to negotiate on issues related to Agro-biodiversity . He was consultant for Food and Agriculture Organization for United Nations for 7 countries. He is also presently the Chairman of a Committee on Farmers Rights for a treaty which has 144 countries. he has more than 30 years of experience in the field of Agro-Biodiversity.

          It’ was an excellent initiative to promote budding scientist to get right direction in the field of innovation. The Students and the Teachers were benefitted by this workshop,

            Greenway Modern School regard education as the key to success and commit resources in nurturing our new generation Education helps to unleash people’s potential and should enhance their virtues as well as competitiveness. For the second consecutive year a group of Greenwanians along with the Vice Principal Mr. Tarun Sachdeva and two teachers Mrs. Yogyata Mathur and Ms. Mamta were the part of this exchange programme to Russia.


            This cultural program was to foster mutual understanding and promote educational and cultural exchange between India & Russia. It provided opportunity to the students for experiencing different culture and broaden their horizons as well as participating teachers. It was also a good platform to exchange views with fellow educators, share experience and foster partnership. This time the teachers Mrs. Yogyata Mathur(Biology) and Ms. Mamta (Social Science) got the opportunity to give lecture to Russian students along with culture exchange. Lectures caused a huge interest and Russian students had successfully overcame the language barrier too. Our students from classes 7 – 10 participated in sports competition, arts competition and even got opportunities to learn their tradition, Russian dance etc. In this globalized era, people who are able to adjust to different environment embrace changes and celebrate diversities and are able of rising to the challenges ahead.

            The exchange program allowed students to travel and meet people from different cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds and develop a greater understanding of diversity in the process. They also learnt to cultivate positive relationships with others, appreciate a broader  perspective and acquired the knowledge and skills for participating in multi- cultural societies and by applying what they have learnt. They can not only save a better future for their own, but for the community, the country and the world for all. Vice Principal Mr. Tarun Sachdeva thanked Russians for their unconditional support for the exchange programme that lasted one week and for devoting their time and efforts for putting together days of exciting and enriching activities for students and teachers. 


              DUSSEHRA CELEBRATION - 2018 (SENIOR)
              Event was held on 15 & 16.10.2018   

              On 16 October 2018, Greenway Modern School organized a grand Dussehra function wherein spectacular presentation of a soul touching Bhajan and an energising dance were performed by the students .The Bhajan was melodious, soothing and heart touching which lighted the spark of devotion towards God within the students and made the occasion divine.

              The dance presentation of the talented students of the Greenway Modern School mesmerized the spectators and left a remarkable spot on their  hearts. The presentation depicted the victory of Good over Evil. An informative speech on the relevance and traditional beliefs of the festival was delivered by a student of the school.

              The occasion recalled the world famous mythological story of triumph of Good over Evil.

              At the last, the assembly  was addressed by the Activity Incharge of the school ,Ms. Jaishree  who  praised the  efforts of the Teachers,  In-charges and the students as well.

                For education to be holistic, it has to develop leadership among children, among other things. And this leadership comes not just from reading complex theories in voluminous books. It also comes from the ability to take initiatives.

                It was in this spirit that an Investiture Ceremony was held at Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden on 10 October 2018[Wednesday].

                The event began with the leaders giving a ceremonial welcome to the Chairperson ma’am and Principal sir of the school. Then, the council members confidently marched onto the stage and took an oath to discharge their duties with full dedication and loyalty. The members of the council were:

                  On 10 October,2018[Wednesday] Greenway Modern School organized the inauguration ceremony of ATL(Atal Tinkering Lab) . The occasion was graced by the chief guest Dr. Unnat Pandit (Head Operations-ATL,NITI AAYOG), special guest Ms. Lestyana Yuniarsih (Education & Cultural Attache Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia);  and guest of  honour Dr. Biswajit  Saha (Director,Vocational and Training C.B.S.E). The event was the start of an era of inventions of young innovators of Greenway Modern School.

                  On this special occasion, all the dignitaries of the school management were present. The programme started with Saraswati Vandana followed by a play ‘Science and Emotions-a tug of war’. After the cultural programme, all the distinguished guests and eminent dignitaries and members of Greenway Modern School witnessed the most awaited moment of the occasion, the inauguration of ATL which was done by the hands of Dr. Unnat Pandit who expects and wishes a great innovation to be made by Greenwanians in future.

                  Ms. Lestyana Yuniarsih talked about having collaboration of Greenway Modern School with the schools of Indonesia in future ahead and she also praised the efforts put up by the entire unit of Greenway Modern School.

                  The Lab was decored with the numerous science projects, presentations, models (still and working both), remote controlled gadgets and devices, etc, which were the dedicated hard work and industrious efforts of the students of Greenway Modern School. At the end, the Principal of the school, Mr. Mohit Sachdeva gave a vote of thanks and aimed at the future endeavors of the school in the field of scientific and technological innovations.

                  The event was actually a beautiful amalgam of Culture, Science and Technology.

                    Ministry of Petroleum in collaboration with C.B.S.E organized Painting and Essay competition. The topic was “SAVE FUEL FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT”. Near about 1000 students participated in this event. The increasing price of Petrol, made the students understand the concept of Saving Fuel.

                      Terre Olympiad
                      Held in the month of October 2018   

                      An environmental theme based online quiz was organized in Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden. Near about 600 students participated in this even. The quiz was based on basic science and environment. 15 students from Classes V to X  were selected for the second round, the name of the students are:-

                        “Health and Healthy diet play a pivotal role in a student’s life”. Emphasizing this statement, Greenway Modern School in association with Nestle conducted a quiz competition for the students of Primary and Middle wing.  The students enthusiastically participated in the quiz and proved their intellect.  They were also provided with milk samples of Milo and an activity booklet.  The winners of the quiz were honoured with medals and certificates.  School Co-ordinator Ms. Sarita coordinated with Nestle to conduct the activity in school.  The Principal Mr. Mohit Sachdeva congratulated all the winners and appreciated the initiatives taken to infuse the healthy habits in children.

                          As part of its diamond jubilee celebrations, IIT Bombay organised student solar ambassador workshop on 1st October, 2018, under the Solar Urja through localisation for Sustainability (SOULS) initiative. 16 students of Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden, got an opportunity to be a part of this initiative. They were accompanied by two teachers Mrs. Poonam Makheeja (PGT- computer science) and Mrs. Heena Devgan. (TGT-computer  science). It was a unique one- day training program at D.A.V Vasantkunj, students learned to assemble their own solar study lamps and gained skills on soldering, uses of renewable and non-renewable energy, working of solar panels, PCB and so on. 

                          Through this workshop, scientific curiosity of students was piqued towards clean technologies for the future, by making them "Student Solar Ambassador"


                          On 2nd of October, tuesday, students went to vigyan bhawan, where our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi , inaugurated the first assembly of the International solar alliance.(ISA).The same event  marked the inauguration of the second IORA Renewable Energy Ministerial meetings and the 2nd global re-invest. The secretary general of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Guterres, Mrs Sushma swaraj, and other dignitaries  were present on this occasion. 


                          The Prime Minister addressed the assembly and also emphasized that if the dream of " One world, one sun, and one grid " is followed, uninterrupted power supply can follow. 100 students from various schools including students from our school  lit their self- made solar lamps at the inaugural function, as a mark of their support towards clean energy resources. The event was telecast live.


                          It was a really a proud moment for the school to share the event with great dignitaries. We took an oath to utilize the power of solar energy so as to keep our environment safe and to be inherited by future generations to come. 


                            CBSE – ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIP
                            Given on 10.10.2018   

                            CBSE central zone Delhi Region organized Archery championship at Presidium  Dwarka.

                            Delhi –NCR schools participated in this event. After qualifying for the quarter finals and semifinals Nimisha Kasana of class XE Greenway Modern School Dilshad Garden secured 1st position in the central zone Delhi RegionArchery Championship in junior category. A proud moment indeed. Another feather in the cap of Greenways. The Management & the Principal of the School congratulated the efforts of the child. She was guided under the able guidance of P.E.T Mr. Mukesh Sharma.


                              OPEN DAY AT NPL - CSIR
                              Event was held on 28.09.2018   

                              28th September saw an open day of the CSIR-NPL National Physical Laboratory. NPL is a mandatory organization setup in every country so as to maintain a record of level of advancement of equipments, mainly scales. CSIR in collaboration with NPL had called on for an open day and invited the creamy layer of many schools along with teachers. The students and the teachers were guided by one of the staff members. They started of with the lignification plant. Over there nitrogen and helium gases were liquipedunine at high pressures and low temperatures. They were also told about various researches, absolute zero and many other things. They were fornicate when they allowed them to dip leaves and inflated balloons in liquid nitrogen. As soon as leaves were dipped and taken out they broke to pieces. No soon the balloon was dipped to gaseous components liquefied.

                              After that they were taken to water department. They first showed them water meter and described their features. Then an explanation on a vast underground water tank which could hold 6,00,000L water at the same time could test 6 meters simultaneously using overhead tanks. They were of 25mm, 100mm, 200mm, 50mm, 1000mm in diameters.

                              In the last they were taken to solar plant where they described about various things at star energy connection solar planers, their efficiency.

                              At last but not the least, they weretaken to the organic section where they showed them carbon micro-stumolar fiber which is lighter and 100 times stronger than steel

                              It was a great experience for the students and the teachers of Greenway. The Students were accompanied by Mrs. Yogyata Mathur(PGT-Biology) and Mr. Puneet (PGT-Chemistry)


                                To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi a number ofactivities were performed at Greenway Modern School.
