As a part of the Eco-Club activity, a group of 50
students along with two teachers had the privilege to see Gaj Mahotsav on 14
August, a visual representation of 101 elephants which was organized by
Wildlife Trust of India and The Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate
Change at Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts. It was a campaign of 4 days
from 12-15 August to create awareness about the extinction of Asian elephants.
It had an art exhibition, film shows and entertainment alongside sessions on
The students attended a Best out of Waste workshop,
clay modelling workshop, and saw a documentary of 84 minutes named as “Bastian
of Giants” unravelled the story of the Asian Elephants.101 artificial elephants
made up of different materials such as logs of wood, electronic parts, plastic
bottles, and clay, etc. were set up. The students were feeling blessed that
they got the opportunity to visit this glorious event.
