Greenway Modern School organized an “Edifying Convene” with the Russian Centre on the occasion of the inauguration of the new Computer Laboratory – a stepped up effort to provide its students opportunities to experiment with technology and culture. Held on 9th October 2013, it was an event which encircled the ties between India and Russia and assisted the students to understand the Russian Culture in a more holistic manner.
The Chief Guests for the day were Ms. Tatiana Perova, Head, Russian Language & Teachers Training Centre, Russian Centre of Science and Culture and Mr. Vanilov Alexander Principal of Russian School who were escorted along with some Russian Students. The Head Girl of the school Aparajitha Dutta gave the welcome speech which was followed by a cultural plethora and delightful musical dance was showcased on diverse musical notes of both the countries and a tremendous performance of rock ‘n’ roll by the school band mesmerized the audience; avidly catching the pulse. This was succeeded by an Interaction Session between the students of our school and the students from Russia regarding, culture, festivals, food, education etc. covering a vast gamut of aspects.
The Chief Guest Ms. Tatiana addressed the students and encouraged them by saying ‘Appetite for knowledge is insatiable”. She gifted the school library a myriad of books regarding Russia and its diversity and gave an enriching PPT presentation.
The highlight of the day was a friendly basket ball match which was a mixture of sportsman spirit and quick reflexes at heights
Our Manager Sir, Mr. Kamal Sachdeva addressed the audience and expressed social accountability, emotional stability and self discipline as the need of the hour and gave an overview about the strong bonds of Indo-Russian connection.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by our Principal Mr. Mohit Sachdeva who said that perseverance and positive attitude are the keys to success and emphasized strive to enhance your skills and grow while dealing with different situation in life.
The event was a grand success and was enjoyed by all
