Greenway Modern School organized a Pearson Workshop for all English teachers on 20th December 2014. Ms. Tara Chadda , the resource person brought to light the importance of English and how interestingly it can be taught, laying more stress on the phonetics, syllabus and most of all the correct usage of dictionary.

 It was quite informative and worth attending.

    CELEBRATION OF GANIT WEEK

    Greenway Modern School successfully organized by the GANIT week from 16th -22nd Dec to promote the interest of students in Mathematic. Many activities were a part of this week which emphasized on the important role played by mathematics in building up the modern civilization.  The essay writing competition saw the unleashing potential and creativity of young minds along with their aspiration related to the subject.

    Teachers and students also had an experience sharing session in which grooming of mind buoyancy of logic and how to provide impetus concerning mathematics, as many students fear it, was discussed at large. A lecture on mathematics by eminent scientist was also held in which the students were given important tips to solve the mathematical problems and take math as a fun not a phobia.

    The quiz competition was the highlight of the celebrations in which the teams were also named Alpha, Beta, and Gama & Delta.  The teams displayed immense knowledge, logical reasoning and deft answering which mesmerized the audience. The gamut of events culminated with poster making competition which showcased indispensible balance between calculations, reasoning, imagination and excellence.

    The faculty and the school management congratulated the students.

      VISIT TO PARLIAMENT SESSION
        
      NEW

      A group of 50 students along with two teachers went to see the live parliament session. The discussion was mainly on the tribal people’s problem of different constituencies and the major debate was on whether the approval of functioning of E-rickshaws in Delhi. The aim of the visit was to make students aware of the proceedings of the parliament and how important decisions are taken with regard to the major problems of the country.  It was a part of the educational trip. The students really enjoyed the session. Some of the Ministers who were present at that time were Ms. Sushma Swaraj, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Mr. Panikar, Mr. Prabhu, Mr. Jawadekar, Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Mr Babool Supriyo, Senior opposition leader Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge.  It was an informative session. The Principal of the School Mr. Mohit Sachdeva, emphasized that such educational visits should be organized, to make the students understand the importance of our constitution.

          The Senior Wing (Classes VI – XII) of Greenway Modern School celebrated the Scholars’ Day on 22nd November, 2014.

          The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. R.K. Sisodia, Jt. Secretary, Ministry of HRD and Guest of Honours were Ms. Shruti Gupta, First Disciple of Shobhna Narayan (Kathak dancer) &  renowned painter and Mr. Sharad Kaushik, the Former Captain of India’s International Volley Ball Team who invigorated the students with their inspiring discourse.

          Right from the decorations, ambience and programmes, everything focused on the theme ‘SAMARPAN’ – A tribute to parents.

          Achievers were felicitated for academic as well as extra-curricular activities including subject toppers, class toppers, all rounder performance, best orator and maximum attendance.  Separate awards were given in art & craft, music, dance and sports arena as will.  The scintillating performances and vivacious dances along with nostalgic skits and dance drama reverberated the resonance of theme amongst the audience.

          The programme culminated with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the School Principal Mr. Mohit Sachdeva who congratulated the achievers and inspired the students to envisage a goal in life and celebrate endeavour, courage and commitment.

            The Primary Wing (Classes I – V) of Greenway Modern School celebrated the Scholar’s Day on 21st November 2014. 

            The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Sanjay Singh, Undersecretary Ministry of HRD and Guest of Honours were Ms. Pritam Siwach, Former Captain of Indian Women International Hockey Team and Mr. Karl Zigmand, Director of Student Activities, American Embassy School who invigorated the students with their inspiring discourse.

            The plethora of events was weaved around the theme ‘UDAAN’ – A stride towards zenith.  Various achievements were felicitated for academic as well as extra-curricular activities including - art & craft, music, dance and sports.

            The tiny tots entertained the audience with variety of cultural programmes interwoven into an extravaganza of music and dance.  The dances from different parts of the world were the highlight of the School.

            The school Chairperson Mrs. Sudesh Sachdeva congratulated the achievers and requested the audience to staunchly follow the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

            The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Vice Principal Mr. Tarun Sachdeva who inspired the children to abandon distractions and explore challenges with vigour.
