    INTER HOUSE SPEECH COMPETITON ON CURRENT TOPICS

    Purity House organized an Inter-House Speech competition on 24th July 2014, in which all the four houses [Harmony, Love, Peace and Purity] participate and spoke about the current issues.  Akansha Negi from Love House won the first prize in the competition – she spoke on the topic Alienation in one’s own nation.  The second prize was won by Surbhi Mohan of Purity House who spoke on recently held FIFA World Cup.

      FIRE SAFETY - MOCK DRILL & DEMONSTRATION

      A mock drill was conducted at Greenway Modern School by the Fire Department to establish a systematic, safe and orderly evacuation of the premises by all occupants in  the event of a fire or other emergency, in the least possible time to a safe area using the available means of exit and also to use the available fire extinguishers.  The drill was very informative and useful.

        A NEW DIMENSION

        To inculcate the moral values the school has taken an initiative to show the students documentaries/short movies which boosts up their moral so that they do not involve themselves into any bad habits.  The short videos are related to their daily life i.e. – helping hands, effects of bullying, anger management etc.

          We at Greenway believe that each day, each moment is meant for learning and what makes it more fruitful when we learn through fun filled child centered activities.

          Today on 16th July, 2014 our Tiny Toddlers of play group enjoyed a rain dance and learned new rhymes related to rain like

          ‘Rain Rain go away’

          It was eye catching to watch the blushing and fully enthusiastic face of the students together with their teacher and classmates, they had great fun………

            CAREER COUNSELLING - COMMERCE STREAM FOR CLASSES XI & XII

            To make the students aware of changing trends in Commerce, an informative Workshop was organized by Greenway Modern School, Dilshad Garden.  The workshop was for Commerce students of Classes XI and XII and the resource person was Mr. Ashish Jain (C.F.A MS-Finance).  He enlightened the students and gave them insight into the changed procedure of Delhi University.  The students were informed that they can take admission in various other varsities apart for Delhi University. The aspirants were made aware of eligibility criteria. He stressed on vocabulary, grammar and G.K as they are common to all competitive exams.  Altogether the cognizance provided by him proved to be quiet fruitful.

              BSES WORKSHOP/-CREATING AWARENESS ABOUT CONVERSATION OF RESOURCES

              The eco-aware future citizen of tomorrow at Greenway, added nuggets of precious information to their knowledge about conserving Electricity and preventive measures to avoid loss of life and accidents caused by reckless handling of wires and circuits as they were shown two very thought provoking features related to Electricity.  The films were an endeavour of BSES to teach young learners about the judicious use of these highly valued resources. Children learnt various methods to conserve electricity and garnered awareness about the preventive measures to avoid fatal accidents caused due to electric shocks via very interesting and informative documentaries.

                TEACHER'S WORKSHOP

                An interactive workshop was organized on 1st July 2014 at Greenway Modern School for the teachers.  The resource person was Ms. Geetanjali Kumar from CBSE, elaborated the difficulties faced by students with weak cognitive skills in learning things.  The workshop was a pilot initiative to rekindle the importance of values in daily life.  The faculty was encouraged to adopt an approach to trigger the senses of students and motivate them to discuss their true potential.  The endeavour was appreciated by all and the teachers in their zeal participated wholeheartedly in all the activities.
